Food & Drinks Menu
Leman Tea Room wanted to add an online menu feature to their new website, but whether that would be in the shape of a downloadable PDF or an actual page on the website wasn't decided until later in the process.
We used Wix's Restaurants app to build their menu within the dashboard, and designed a page on the website linked to that menu, which automatically updates with any changes they make to their menu in the backend - this means making minor changes is much easier compared to having a PDF that would need updating even for a single word change.
Reservations
Although Leman Tea Room has now switched to taking reservations over WhatsApp and over the phone, we initially implemented a table reservations system that allowed table reservations. It is also possible through this system to request a deposit per person during the reservation to complete and confirm the process.
Google Reviews Implementation
Through a third-party widget, we implemented Leman Tea Room's Google reviews section where visitors can see ratings and comments left by previous customers. This is placed on the home page.
Closing Thoughts
When Leman Tea Room approached us for a new website, we had an initial design direction in mind. However, the concept evolved significantly during the design and implementation process, shaped by a steady flow of new ideas from both sides.
To build the user experience, we drew on their existing social media presence, Tripadvisor profile, and menu content. This informed a user-friendly menu page that incorporated their tea, beverage, and food offerings in an accessible, easy-to-navigate format.
They requested a pastel colour scheme, providing two core colours as a starting point. We developed the palette from these, adjusting where needed to ensure sufficient contrast and meet accessibility standards.
Some requested design elements were not natively available in Wix or its plug-ins, so we utilised new capabilities in Wix Studio to implement them effectively.
